Pharmarium is a cocktail bar that serves seasonal drinks and medium sized meals at Stortorget in the Old Town (Gamla Stan). Parmarium gets a lot of inspiration from Sweden’s first pharmacy, which was located in the same spot back in the day. Inside Pharmarium it’s warm, dark and welcoming in a mysterious way. The interior almost makes you feel like you’re in a Harry Potter movie (which I love)! I haven’t eaten here (yet), but they create menus with drinks that compliment the food, and since they have such interesting flavoured drinks, I’m very much looking forward to trying it out!
Pharmarium creates interesting flavours using odd ingredients and a large dose of imagination – the drinks here are unlike anything I’ve ever tried before. How about a Night Howler (155 SEK), with Star of Bombay Gin, Tapatio Blanco, Tequila, Lychee, Belsazar Rosé Vermouth, Agave honey, sandalwood and birch tree smoke? I don’t know how they create the “birch tree smoke” flavour, but I like it!
The downside here is that Pharmarium is very pricey so you might actually want to stick with “just one drink”, but the interesting taste experience is worth every krona. I’ll definitely go here when it starts to get warmer in Stockholm – it’s so nice to sit outside and enjoy a drink in the fresh air next to the little town square.
