The old mill from 1850, Skanskvarn, has since 1930 served as a restaurant and bar. Located on a cliff facing the city with water far underneath it, the view from here is incredible. And the sun lingers on your face until the late hours.
This wonderful gem attracts people of all different types during the summer – hungry tummies as well as thirsty companions, but almost exclusively locals, since it’s been kept unknown to many as it isn’t a place you just happen to encounter, due to its location.
The atmosphere here is very relaxed, although it can change in tempo when the afternoon becomes evening during the summery months. You can choose to sit down in the leafy garden or on their terrace, where more often than not the heaters are kept on on when needed.
A visit to Skanskvarn is to enjoy a cold beer, embrace the sunset, and just experience this best kept secret like a local.
