Södra Teatern – Decadence and devilry

This is my absolute favourite club right now! Södra Teatern is located on Södermalm with a stunning view of Stockholm. They have it all in their extravagant and beautiful old building: they host concerts, theatre and clubs, they have several bars and also the restaurant Mosebacke Etablissement. Just go to their website to check out what’s happening right now! In November I was at Södra Teatern with some friends to see Elijah Wood DJ (yeah, apparently he does that now?).

The theatre was built in 1852 and it’s one of Sweden’s oldest active theaters. It’s gorgeous, and huge. The interior almost makes you feel like you crashed a rich person’s mansion and turned the fancy dinner party into a rave. Last time I was there, I actually got lost trying to find my way to a particular dance floor where my friends were. The type of music played varies, but they usually play Indie, HipHop and RnB. Amongst the several rooms with different dance floors I’m sure you can find something to your liking.

If you’re going to be here drinking all night you’ll be ruined financially though, which is the case with most good places in Stockholm, so I’d suggest you go hang out at a cheaper bar before you come here.
