In first place as my all time favourite restaurant in Stockholm, comes Surfers. The chill and relaxed environment makes you want to sit there for hours, and the interior matches the waiters – fun and energetic. They are also very knowledgeable regarding the food so if they think you’re ordering the wrong combination they’ll tell you! And I suggest you listen to them.
Even if Surfers didn’t have all that, they have the food. And oh-my-god. The food. It’s not your typical half-assed and greasy version of Chinese food. China is the origin of the food, but Sichuan is the origin of the flavours: a mix of mild, spicy, sweet, salty and tangy. Their food is so good it makes me want to cry out of sheer happiness.
Surfers’ a great place to bring a group of friends, and since you order about three dishes per person and share you’ll get to try almost everything. Each dish costs 96 SEK, and I’d recommend: Ingefärsdoftande tofu (Ginger smelling Tofu, aka best Tofu I’ve eaten in my entire life), Revbenspjäll (Ribbs), and Bang bang ji zi (chicken breast with sesame and cucumber). I loved their Karl-Johanknyte (Karl-Johan mushroom bundles), but unfortunately they took that off the menu.
Also, they serve amazing drinks here. Please, don’t order a Whiskey Sour or a Piña colada – that’s just a waste of money when you can get drinks such as Hainan Honey (125 SEK) with ginger, gin and honey.
Booking is strongly recommended!
