In shared first place as my all time favourite restaurant in Stockholm, comes Surfers. The chill and relaxed environment makes you want to sit there for hours, and the interior matches the waiters – fun, energetic, and hard to take your eyes off. The waiters are also very knowledgeable regarding the food and if they think you’re ordering the wrong combination they’ll tell you! And I suggest you listen to them. They can also give you a brief history of the different dishes’ origins while serving you.
Even if Surfers didn’t have all that, they have the food. And oh-my-god. The food. I’m sitting here trying to figure out a good way to describe it… It has a lot of taste, it’s different, and delicious. Their food is so good it makes me want to cry out of sheer happiness.
Surfers’ a great place to bring a group of friends, and since you order about three dishes per person and share you’ll get to try almost everything. Each dish costs 96 SEK, and I’d recommend: Ingefärsdoftande tofu (Ginger smelling Tofu, aka best Tofu I’ve eaten in my entire life), Karl-Johanknyte (Karl-Johan mushroom bundles) that melts in our mouth, Revbenspjäll (Ribbs), and Bang bang ji zi (chicken breast with sesame and cucumber).
Also, they serve amazing drinks here. Please, DO NOT order a Whiskey Sour or a Piña colada – that’s just a waste of money when you can get drinks such as Hainan Honey (125 SEK) with ginger, gin and honey.
