There must be something about Swedish food traditions that make us so susceptible to American food, and especially burgers. It’s like there’s an almost unhealthy obsession with burgers here in this city and you’ll find two main types of burger restaurants. The first being burger purists, like Phil’s burgers (check the Phil’s Burgers article) or Flippin’ Burgers who worship the simplicity of two buns and a patty. The other is devoted to the “more is more” ideology and one of these places is Texas Longhorn Burgers and Deli.
Under the ironic slogan, “warm beer, lousy food”, Texas Longhorn Burgers and Deli serve up some great hamburgers! They have a generous selection of different burger toppings, ranging from blue cheese/bacon to alfalfa/sour cream. For the freakishly hungry, the natural choice would be the big-boy burger (two patties, three buns, bacon and cheese) or the Carnivore (three burgers stacked).
The place is very relaxed with friendly and familiar staff and a clientele of mostly locals. Seating is a bit limited, and they don’t take reservations.
