Vasco Castro (1979)
About me
I was born in Porto, the second largest town in Portugal. I lived and finished all my education there until I decided to move abroad and experience a new culture. Doing a PhD sounded like a good reason and Stockholm a very interesting town to move to.
Little I knew that 6 years after I wouldn’t even consider living in any other city in the world in the long run. During these years I have been here I made new friends, went to many different places with them, experienced all that Stockholm has to give in an every day basis and even found time to finish my PhD in Physical Chemistry.
Why Stockholm
When I first came to Stockholm (during Summer) I fell in love with both the architecture of the town as well as its relation with the nature. It is a beautiful city that is hard to resist to, but in the long run one needs more than that.
And as I found to fit very well with the way Stockholmers behave (mostly the easiness to talk with someone new and their capacity to dare) and the city’s bohemian yet slow-paced lifestyle I’m sticking to this great town for the time to come!
