Kadrioru Park – An elegant historic park

An early Saturday morning. A park created by Russian emperor Peter the Great for his lover Catherine in the 18th century. The sun is gleaming through the leaves of oak trees and swans are lazily passing their time in a nearby pond. I have a small bag of still warm croissants from Cafe Lyon (check the Cafe Lyon article) and the smell of my coffee from Gourmet Coffee (check the Gourmet Coffee article) is making me take faster steps to find a nice corner bench, settle in and spend a calm morning with the pages of Tolstoy and the quiet breeze from nearby sea.

Kadrioru Park is nice for a leisurely stroll on a sunny day. Easily reached by a tram from the center and combined with a visit to KUMU art museum (check the KUMU article), it will make a pretty perfect afternoon.
