Kukeke (in translation Little Rooster) is another restaurant, well actually more a bistro like they call themselves, by renowned Estonian chef and cookbook author Anni Arro. Situated in trendy Telliskivi district just across the street from F-Hoone.
Much like her Komeet (check the Komeet article), Kukeke has Arro family written all over it. The walls are covered with artwork by both her mother and father and the overall atmosphere is very welcoming. Arro wanted to keep a simple and rustic look, keeping in line with the character of the building and the district surrounding it.
The art of Anni herself comes, of course, from the kitchen. “Our menu is inspired by the environment – it is simple, unpretentious and everything but snobbish. Our ingredients are fresh and seasonal and mainly local,” Arro explains on her website.
In the evenings they host casual events like watching sports from a big screen while you can enjoy some of their cocktails.
