I love bookstores. I love the smell of a new book, the anticipation of reading it and that getaway feeling i get!
Tallinn’s city center hides a little book market in the basement of Rahva Raamat, Raamatuturg.
The story goes that this bookstore has been around since the last century when a lot of famous writers visited Raamatuturg – it must have a good aura!
Raamatuturg sells books with discounts! Prices can start from 50 (!) cents.
Books are divided by price, topic and language. English books are there too – romantic novels, fiction, horror… you name it! I actually even found a book for marketing people – 50 tips! You just have to take some time to look around!
Moreover, you can find boardgames and postcards – great souvenirs to take back home!
And one super-cool thing- forget all regular English-Estonian dictionaries. Raamatuturg has a good variety of cards with “Estonian expressions”- believe me, Estonian will never be that easy!
So if you lost your book or forgot it in the airplane- Raamatuturg definitely has something for you! Set yourself down in the armchair and read!
