Tallinn TV Tower – a seemingly insignificant building but in reality it’s far from it. The 314m high tower, built for the 1980 Moscow Summer Olympics, holds a significant symbolic value in the events of Estonia’s restoration of independence. It was the site of a series of groundbreaking events that led to the Supreme Council adopting the declaration of Estonia’s state sovereignty on 20 August 1991.
By today the tower has been transformed into an experience center and a showcase of everything we are proud of as Estonians. A stunning 360˚ view over Tallinn and the Baltic Sea is enhanced by the observation screens that let you move around in time and space. Besides magnifying the view, they show what the city looked like at different times.
The Tower also features a restaurant with by far the most breathtaking view over Tallinn.
It’s fun for kids, interesting for the interested and romantic for lovers around sunset time. For sure one of the must-go places when visiting Tallinn.
