There are many places where I can enjoy a drink or two around Rabin square. Malki, located on the west side of the square, is probably the most popular option among locals. More important (at least in my opinion), Malki seems less popular among people who live outside of Tel Aviv, which makes the place even better…

Malki has roughly 3 parts. The outside area is the most crowded part. Most of the tables are for sharing (unless we are with a group of 8, and then we’ll probably book a table in advance), which is good for mingling; However, it’s pretty noisy. The tables inside are smaller and aren’t for sharing, which makes it easier to have a conversation and to catch up. The third part is the bar, which offers intimacy and an isolated space, although it’s right next to the other parts. This becomes possible because there are two pillars that divide the inner space. The Malki’s bar is my favorite location for first dates.

Until 20:30, you get to choose a free dish for every drink you order for a fixed price of 35 NIS. They changed their food menu recently so this might be a good time to check it out.
