The galleria at Brookfield Place, to me, is just plain sexy. The fact that it’s only purpose seems to be a beautifully designed inter-building walkway seems almost frivolous (especially given the usually quite stark and drab quality of the downtown business area.) Just walking though, you can’t help but glance up at the lofty arches high above you and feel like you’re looking at some sort of awesome glass tree canopy. They have free art/photography exhibits here often enough, which is really a solid choice of setting.
I remember visiting here when I was young while eating with my family at the Marché restaurant located off to the side. It’s funny, but while Marché is by no means fine dining, back then, I couldn’t imagine eating at a fancier place. The Galleria also connects with the Hockey Hall of Fame, the PATH and an decent food court right below it if you’re feeling a little hungry.
