Art Gallery of Ontario – AGO – Art for any mood

As a graduate student in humanities, I am constantly on the outlook for good spots to sit down with my laptop and get some writing done. Art Gallery of Ontario (A.G.O.) is not only one of my favorite places to see all kinds of art styles but also to study. I love the cozy coffee shop with strong espresso on the second floor next to the wall of windows facing the Dundas street.

A.G.O. has such a diverse collection of art that you can find something that would resonate with any kind of mood that you might have on that day. When I want to relax, I tend to prefer impressionists. When I am feeling like I need to be with a friend, I go to Rodin’s The Thinker or to Picasso.

The A.G.O. gift shop is just as artistic and quirky as the gallery itself. It never failed me when I was looking for last minute gifts or cute little things to put on my desk at the office.

A.G.O is also a great place for a date, a casual meet-up with friends or even a business meeting. You can dress up or show up in jeans.

Hot tip: the entrance is free on Wednesdays from 18:00 – 21:00.
