Life is about new adventures! True, it is comforting having a routine, a comforting habit, a favourite watering hole or a specific vineyard’s grape. Yeah, we are talking about drinking here… so let’s talk about beer for a bit.
There are hundreds of lounges, bars and pubs in Toronto yet only a few focus on the beer drinking experience. Specifically the delicious underrated local beer experience.
Indeed, places like the Beer Markt are fun, have a great selection yet are deafening, packed to the point of tuna-canned-discomfort-levels and do not focus on the Ontario scene. BarVolo on the other hand takes a laid-back, candle-lit approach, a great locale to bring a date or a few friends to share an Ontario pilsner…or a lager, cider, ale or stout, who am I to judge? Have some fun, some great conversations, whether it be indoors or at their excellent patio during the Summer, which I highly recommend!
With rotating casks changed on a weekly basis, every visit is a new adventure. Not sure what to order? Ask the bartenders, they might suggest a selection of three small tasters for the price of one! Hungry? No problem! Although the food here is meant to enhance the drinking experience, thus expect beer-friendly dishes like cheeses & meats boards, pizzas, pastas and sandwiches.
Lastly, BarVolo is at the helm behind the annual Cask Days Festival, a beer frenzy of music, art, food and believe it or not, beer education that takes place in late October.
