Looking at the facade of the Danforth Music Hall, it might be surprising to some that artists like Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Kina Grannis or the RuPaul’s Drag Race have graced its stage. Over the years, the Danforth Music Hall has gone through many changes, but one thing stays true – it’s a destination for live performances.
Most of the original structure of the building remains with some improvements to keep up with today’s technology. A great reminder of the day it was built, back in the early 1900’s, it stands as one of Toronto’s oldest surviving theatres. The concert hall is not as big as the ACC or the Roger Center. The stage wasn’t built to accommodate acrobatic dancers or huge pyrotechnic displays either. Having only gone to the Danforth Music Hall a handful of times, watching a performance there is about the artists and their music; just raw talent shared among fans and aspiring artists that wish to follow in their footsteps.
Watching a performance at the Danforth Music Hall is an intimate and humbling experience with some of the world’s biggest performers in every genre. I highly recommend checking out their upcoming events and ticket prices to see if your favourite bands and artists are playing.
