Indigo – Gift shop and a book store in one

I love browsing book shelves in small bookstores all around the city but sometimes I get a little tired of wagon-style dimly lit bookstores. That’s when I go to Indigo. It’s like a cross between a gift shop, a toy store and a library. The book sections are well organized, the staff is very knowledgeable and the gift shop sections are well curated and festive any time of the year.

I go to Indigo when I am looking for either the newest best-sellers or timeless classics in beautiful print. Oddly enough, I find Indigo a great place for a date! I find it fun to window shop together to get a better sense of each others’ tastes in literature and aesthetic preferences.

Pro tip: If you are not sure whether you would like to buy a certain book you can flip through it or even read an excerpt right inside the store, as long as you are being careful and neat with the book.
