Museum Station – History underground

If you’re visiting Toronto you will almost certainly catch tidbits of the discussion around enlarging our subway system and how the current level of transit service isn’t matching the growth of the city. That aside, a lot of people I know use the TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) to get around, and I’m guessing you probably will too while you’re here.

Although not as much as some other cities, there’s a few cool art pieces and installations throughout the various stations and some of it is really cool. One of the most encompassing is the Platform level at Museum station.

While I’m not sure it’s worth getting off the train for, (especially if you’re in a rush) it’s really nice to travel through the station after all the run-of-the-mill stations preceding it. And my head certainly pops up from whatever distractions I have with me to see the eye-catching museum inspired pillars.
