Every time I walk past the quirky building of the Royal Ontario Museum (R.O.M.) I can’t resist dropping by the Royal Ontario Museum Boutique. Luckily, admission tickets are not necessary to enter this store, but the boutique is almost like a mini museum of its own. There are creative puzzles, unusual decor elements, toys, and high-end souvenirs there. The prices are diverse as well. I remember getting a small puzzle there for less than 10 dollars and seeing beautifully decorated large globes for over 100 dollars.
I love coming to ROM Boutique because the collection of featured goods always reflects current exhibits at the R.O.M. Visiting the boutique with kids is also a great idea! Although I don’t have kids myself yet, I can tell that children enjoy their time in there. They hug large plush toys, play with plastic dinosaurs and look for countries on large globes and maps. Another kids’ favorite (and my favorite too) is a statue of a knight next to the boutique entrance. I can never resist taking a selfie with it!
