Value Village is something of a thrift shoppers paradise. While I always took it for granted, it wasn’t until I traveled around to other countries a bit that I realized how amazing this place really is.
Set up in unpretentious big box type locations around the city (and country) it has quite the cult following. I always try to stop by alternate locations, because you know, the selection might be different. I have many discussions with friends about which store in Toronto is the best. I’ll report back if (and when) we come to a consensus.
Since even earlier than high school, I’ve been making frequent visits. You just never know what you could find, as is the nature of this type of shopping anywhere. Also key for me is the large book section. I’m always looking for something new to read on the cheap. This place gets especially crazy around Halloween, when it seems the whole city is here buying something or another to wear as a costume.
