San Pietro in Vincoli was the first cemetery in Turin, built in 1777. Now this place is a theatre and watching a show in San Pietro is very suggestive and full of mysteries. This place has a big patio surrounded by columns and in the middle of the colonnade stands the chapel, which is where the theatre is.

After the show you can go explore the colonnade and discover that there are
headstones on the walls and on the floors, from 1777 to 1900 dissidents were buried here, like impure women and nuns. But now all that is history.

During the season called Santa Cultura in Vincoli you can see young and promising companies, dance, performances and readings. San Pietro in Vincoli offers concerts and electronic music nights. In the summer you can enjoy an outdoor bar in the middle of the cemetery and have a beer under the night sky.

For a short period (two times a year) this structure accommodates a residency artist program. The activities are from November to June and you can find a calendar to check on the official website or Facebook page.
