In the Venice of the past, the workshops of goldsmiths were located close to the Rialto Bridge in the covered walk that indeed for this reason is called Sotoportego degli Orefici. Unfortunately this part of Venice, one of the most touristic ones, has radically changed and the new shops sell everything but gold.
Actually Attombri shop can be considered a rarity and it’s worth it to find it when you are close to Rialto. I look but I don’t touch. Every time I admire this window as a real work of art I’m impressed of the beauty of the glass jewelry designed by the Attombri brothers. They founded the brand at the end of the ’80s. Their jewels combine the tradition and history of Venice (Murano glass is the raw material) with a Liberty and ethnic style.
Beyond jewelry (according to them they cooperate with the fashion world) they produce furniture, design ornaments and much more. Good for high-class shopping in Venice or just to watch and keep going.
