It goes without saying that one of the most pleasant activities to do in Venice is trying its diversified food offer, and one could go on tasting and discovering traditional regional dishes for a long time. However, just in case you would like to change a bit and try something different, I think Bacarretto is the good choice.
I discovered this place quite recently, and I experienced the almost forgotten pleasure of eating typical Sicilian meals. Among the delights Bacarretto offers, I would definitely suggest their mixed fried antipasto, their caponata and a delicious cassatina for dessert.
The menu actually changes, depending on the stock, as everything is 100% made with fresh products. Sometimes I also pass by and grab an “arancino” and eat it while walking. Besides typical wines from Sicily, there is also a tasty Sicilian artisanal beer with a funny name, I invite you to ask the staff what its meaning is.
