I love to think that on Burano island blue Mondays cannot exist. That’s probably because vibrant and bright colors always make me happy. Indeed one the most picturesque islands of Venice is Burano, famous for its colorful houses.
Burano is more authentic than how it may appear. Wandering through its streets you can still meet and admire ladies working the typical Burano Laces (be aware of cheap imitations you can find in other places in Venice). Another reason to fall in love with this island are the most famous biscuits of the entire city of Venice: the Bussolà. Shortbread biscuits with the shape of ‘S’ letter or donut. I really suggest you buy them at Panificio Pasticceria Costantini, you can find this version only on Burano. Don’t forget to enter st. Martin’s Church where you can find a Tiepolo painting.
It is worth the trip by boat to experience the unique atmosphere of Burano, you can organize a whole day visit or if you don’t have much time you can spend the afternoon and then go back to Venice.
