Trust me, this spot nowadays has the best ice cream that you can taste in Venice. Can you imagine the perfect match between pistachio and hazelnut? “Manet” is the answer. I die for this flavour which only SuSo Gelatoteca makes and it’s worth the extra price (€ 2 instead of € 1.60) that I pay to taste it.
Located in Calle della Bissa just behind the famous Gislon and close to Rialto Bridge, SuSo has become one of the best places for ice cream in Venice in the short time since it opened. Everything from the wafer cup to the cone is made by Suso and all the ingredients are selected and seasonal, and indeed for this reason you can always find new flavours. If you’re looking to get a food souvenir in Venice I really recommend you purchase a jar of the Suso pistachio cream. Make sure you don’t open the jar before leaving because it causes dependence.
