Africa Days – Festival on the Danube Island

From August 18th til September 5th, everybody who can’t actually afford to go to the world’s second-largest continent, but has always wanted to taste the African vibe, can now come here. You will see colorful clothes, listen to some samba, soul or reggae rhythms and eat great food like Fufu or Pof-pof.

Things to do and see: there are many, many shops at the bazaar: get your face painted, join a handicraft or drumming workshop, ride a camel, watch belly dancing or learn how to make giant soap-bubbles! There’s plenty going on, which guarantees fun for the whole family.

In the evenings, you can enjoy two concerts each and some partying afterwards.

What to expect at Africa Days: a really awesome atmosphere as well as a great variety of food, I just couldn’t stop eating.

How to find it: Take the underground U6, get off at the station called “Neue Donau”, on the island you must walk south for a few minutes. Don’t worry, you can’t really miss the little white tents.

Entrance is free on August 21 and 28, September 4 and 5, donations are welcome! 🙂

This year Afrikatage takes place a bit later in summer, because Vienna is going to host the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships from July 28th – Aug 6th.
