This second-hand record store represents one of those places that, despite its minimalist appearance from the outside, might win you over with the many worlds you’ll find within.
If you are ever on the search for a record, a long-forgotten LP, a colorful gramophone or if you’re just in the mood for rummaging around in the – as the name says – old and new music treasures this place has, you should definitely come by for a visit.
When entering the shop you’ll probably get quite overwhelmed by the loads of colors, the broad variety of vinyls and (a little random) stuff standing and hanging around all over the place. Or to say it with the words of my friend: “I’m not sure whether I should call this place dusty or cool”.
There’s a lot to explore! Besides evergreens, classic music and current hits, you’ll enjoy getting to know some special and moreover local music such as Wiener Lieder, pieces of cabaret or old Austrian student songs.
And once you think you’re slowly getting close to overseeing the place the very welcoming and friendly shop owners may guide you to one of the two fully record-packed rooms that are hidden in the back of the shop…one very nice detail about the spot is that its interior also appears in the movie “Before sunrise” which was shot in Vienna. As you see, not only its music but also the spot itself turns out to have a touch of nostalgia, if not, timelessness.
