The great thing about Vienna is that you have both city and nature. Just a few kilometers across the Danube and still reachable with public transport you arrive to one of Austria’s National parks. The Lobau, which is part of the Danube-Auen National Park, a wide area along the Danube, full of lakes, forests, and simply great for exploring the nature and going hiking.
Just at the entrance of the National Park Lobau you find the “National park house”, where you can learn about plants, animals and the environment in general. There are also organized hikes through the park, focusing on different issues, such as wild food plants for example.
It’s a great spot for a relaxing day in Vienna’s nature and your children will love it too!
