First of all, they aren’t from New Mexico and there’s no donkey meat for sale.
My attention was drawn to their burritos by a friend who brought one of those huge things along last time we met. She couldn’t finish it even though she tried so hard, so two of us had to help her out. That was when I had my first bite of el Burro’s. I was surprised at how tasty it was and decided to head to the Freihausviertel (very much a hipster hot spot around there!) myself.
Since the burritos are really big, I knew I would never finish it and decided to get the chicken coconut tacos. I brought a friend, a critical foodie herself, who chose the special of the month: vegan moussaka.
We both enjoyed our dinner a lot. Not only because of the taste of the tacos but also because we enjoyed ourselves, me especially, by making a mess. That being said, I have to say we tried but … it’s no place you want to take someone you just met or if maybe you want to leave with a sophisticated impression of yourself ;). You’re supposed to eat with your hands, there’s no cutlery, and if your choice of sauce is a rather liquidy one you might end up like me, with some of it all over your hands. ;-D
