Yes, Vienna is a heaven for coffee and coffee house lovers – but if you prefer a small neat bar-like style to the grand cafés from last century, this is the spot for you! Here the roaring 1950’s are still alive and kicking!! No fake vintage design but one of the last coffee bars with original furnishing and style of the fifties.
When I first came across the name “Espresso” I was kind of confused…Why is one place called “Kaffeehaus”, the other one “Espresso”? I have learned the difference: An “Espresso” is more focused on a shorter stay and has limited food and beverages. But don’t be fooled, the Espresso Hobby won’t kick you out after a short time but will welcome you with excellent coffee, which comes from Suchan, a small Austrian roasting company. And it will be brewed in the legendary Faema machine. So if your hobby is drinking coffee, like mine, visit this place!
As it has a cosy atmosphere, it is also great for a drink in the evening before or after going to the nice Votiv Kino opposite on the street, one of my favourite cinemas!
For me the only downside is: it is not open on weekends…
