The first time I heard about this place was during Christmas, when word spread among friends that there was a cute, nice indoor Christmas market in the 1st district. Now it is more than a Christmas market!
As the 1st district is the very posh district, which most of us hardly go to, I was positively surprised when I visited it! Now it has turned into a regular slow food market on Friday and Saturday. The stalls vary from week to week, but a lot of the companies are well known, like Adamah – an organic farm which can deliver food to you at home. There are rustic benches to sit on while you try out the food or just get a coffee. In the evening, when the vendors have gone home at 18:00, it turns into more of an open indoor restaurant.
Though prices are not cheap, the kind of hidden backyard setting in a beautiful old hall from the former post office from around 1900 is very special. And it brings an alternative touch to all the Gucci, Prada shops and fur people from the 1st district. Check it out on your sightseeing trip through the inner city!
