Veganz – Vienna’s first vegan super market

It was not until the summer of last year that a vegan supermarket of the Veganz chain opened its very first Austrian branch in Vienna. What I found particularly striking at my first visit, was the warm and friendly atmosphere there, almost like being in a friend’s kitchen. I still can’t really grasp what it is since the shop’s interior isn’t that different from others. If you go and figure it out, please let me know.

One, especially if not 100% vegan, might be surprised by their range of commodities. Understand, you’ll find all sorts of vegan food here but also books, magazines, cosmetics and hygiene products and pet food to round off the range. Many of the products available are also suitable for people with allergies. In addition Veganz offers Vresh2go, a self-service area where you find fresh salads, soups, sandwiches, desserts or smoothies.

Note: on Tuesdays students get 10% off!

2nd note: don’t let them confuse you by the differing information on their website and FB. On Saturdays they [must, Austrian law] close at 18:00 ;).
