I’ve been wanting to write about restaurant Dublis for a while already. But somehow I didn’t. Although I had no reason to delay. I guess I didn’t know which direction I should turn my story: talk about the food or tell the story of the chef Deivydas Praspaliauskas. Finally I decided to take it easy and talk about everything in short :).
The food here is very good, very high-quality and presented in a very aesthetic way. For my taste this is the best Scandinavian spot in Vilnius. Dublis is the place to have business lunch, especially with foreign partners. The ones who come to Vilnius again always want to come back to Dublis. I’ve noticed that their memories of this place are always alive.
Now I want to talk about Mr. Praspaliauskas – the chef of Dublis. When he was just over 20 years old he opened the first ever Scandinavian restaurant in Vilnius. He brought this idea from Denmark and introduced it very successfully in Vilnius. It was a bomb in the very conservative Lithuanian food culture at the time. Dublis is the third restaurant Deivydas has opened. In my opinion it represents the upscale Scandinavian cuisine at its best.
In the daytime Dublis serves fixed menu business lunches and in the evenings there is always a tasting dinner with several starter courses. Make sure to always book a table whether it’s for lunch or dinner. Usually Dublis is very busy and you will not get a table as a walk-in.
