Mobstr’s mural – A twist on Warhol’s quote

The message on the building sounds familiar, right? It’s based on Andy Warhol’s quote “In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes”, which is where the saying “15 minutes of fame” came from.

The mural was created by the UK street artist Mobstr as part of the 2015 Vilnius Street Art Festival – the same event that brought Millo’s paper birds (check the Millo’s paper birds article) to town.

Back in the 80ies this building used to be the town’s taxi depot. Every cab in town was stationed and dispatched for service from this indoor parking lot.

There hasn’t been a taxi inside for a long time now. Still, the building’s 15 minutes of fame came about, so keep an eye out for it on your way to Vilnius airport, or when arriving at Vilnius railway station.
