It’s a little tricky to explain just what kind of a place this really is. The concept of a dacha probably comes closest – a house with a garden just out of town, your own little place to relax.
Except that Panama sits on what’s probably some of the city’s most expensive real estate in the quiet district of Žvėrynas. But the vibe is pure out-of-town.
The little wooden house has an added bar and kitchen, and walls painted in bright blues and yellows, to make sure the interior fits the name. They also keep a cat.
Spending an evening inside is a perfectly pleasant experience, but you’ll really want to come here in warmer weather. That’s when you can take a seat at a table under the garden’s trees, or inside Panama’s greenhouse.
The menu is probably not what you’d expect: seafood, beef and duck, more suitable for when you feel like a little celebration. But if you wander into Žvėrynas, consider dropping in for a drink.
