In Warsaw, just opposite Tel Aviv, we have Beirut. The first one had its big opening several years ago and still attracts many people every day. The latter opened one year later and till this day has fierce fans.
At Beirut they’ve decided to specialize in hummus – and truly their hummus is the best! You can enjoy it plain, or with cumin and rocket salad, or with liver. Sometimes around noon they run out of hummus (just like in the real hummus places that I visited in Israel) – but they quickly prepare new portions.
If you aren’t a hummus fan go for their halloumi burger. Melted cheese with mild spicy sauce! I simply love it.
Beirut’s setting is a little bit apocalyptic, with sand bags placed just like in a military outpost and plastic grenades hanging from the bar.
At night Beirut changes into one of Warsaw’s favourite places to meet for a drink and for chat. It’s always crowded, you might stand outside with your friends drinking some specially brewed beer.
And just so you know – the only battle that may happen between Tel Aviv and Beirut is the hummus battle – but if that’s the case – we all are going to enjoy it!
PS. Beirut is connected with Kraken – they have the same owner. You don’t even have to go outside. Changing worlds was never so easy.
PS2. Reservations are not possible.
