Festiwal Warszawa Singera – Jewish culture

This is one of the most interesting and original festivals in Warsaw, enchanting Warsaw for the tenth time now. The multitude of cultural proposals during the festival is enormous, the festival lasts for a week, starting on August 26th. There are both Jewish artists, singers and Poles specializing in the Jewish culture taking part, so you will definitely learn a lot.

My personal favorite during Warszawa Singera are all concerts of Jewish music. Don’t miss the concerts, the tickets can be bought at eventim.pl. Most events apart from concerts are free, for some you need to register.

During the festival, some dishes of the Jewish cuisine will be presented. This will be quite an occasion to taste some of the kosher specialties that you don’t see very often in Warsaw, apart from Tel Aviv cafe. You can, for example, learn how to make chałka, a traditional sweet bread. Check the website for more details – the programme is already there!

During this year’s festival a strong jazz section will be there: Oleś Brothers & Christopher Dell – „KOMEDA AHEAD” will be reinterpreting works of Krzysztof Komeda.
