I am glad to announce that summer is here!!
The best way to celebrate it, is to go out, sit in the sun, drink something cold, and just talk. The perfect spot for doing that is Pola Mokotwskie. Just on the corner of these green lungs (where, by the way, you can also spend a whole day pretending to be a lizard soaking up sun) are small parcels with even smaller huts. These are called “ogródki działkowe” – garden plots.
Each parcel is privately owned, but you can wander around and take a look at a diversity of styles, ideas, and execution. Some have perfectly trimmed grass, some are chaotic without any plan. But from every corner pink, yellow, violet, blue, orange, and red sprout. Trees are covered with trembling white flowers. The air is different here, you breathe in the freshly cut grass, wet soil, and flower mix.
Although you cannot enter the private huts, you can walk around the area, observe the people (and that diversity is also breathtaking – from retired through students and young families with children, to sophisticated golf-players). Here – practically still in the Warsaw center – you instantly calm down, you walk slowly, you breathe slowly, you enjoy the summer and sun.
