La Sirena – The Mexican food cartel

La Sirena was a recommendation, and a good one. I spent a friend’s hen evening here, enjoying fancy Sirena’s cocktails and great food.

La Sirena offers Mexican food (from seafood through meat, to vegetarian) in the middle of Warsaw (ul. Piękna, next to Plac Konstytucji). I, for example, enjoyed a veg burrito with platanos, quinoa and spicy pineapple salsa. The cocktails (and non-alcoholic drinks) were splendid. La Sirena – the signature cocktail, was beautiful. Also, the soft drinks with chia seeds and lime of peach were a great accompaniment to these beautiful dishes. The only thing to complain about is the size of the portions – some of them are huge (burritos), some are small (i.e. 3 czorty), so the participants (who all ordered mains) were fed unevenly. Just ask the waitress and I bet this might be eliminated.

The interiors may be called dark and original (corrugated metal, strange lamps and prison-like doors), one of our colleagues called them “ghastly”, which, I think, is a compliment for La Sirena. Hey, this is Mexico.
