“Mąka i woda” means “flour and water”. This shows what this place is about: simplicity. They use fresh ingredients, they don’t mix too many tastes, they create simple combinations. And they know what they are doing because in this case ‘simple’ is a synonym for ‘delicious’. I love their white pizzas which come without any tomato sauce. I was really surprised at how much flavor there is. Every ingredient has a very delicate taste and because there’s no tomato sauce (which is very dominant) one can appreciate them and marvel on them. It’s summer so the white pizza with zucchini flowers is back (thank goodness!)!
There’s also a good selection of wine to accompany your pizza.
What I also like here is the location. It’s in the center of Warsaw, just on the always busy Chmielna street. But it’s hidden in the backyard of one of the buildings. And it’s peaceful and quiet here. You are hidden away while eating simple food, drinking good wine, and listening to the buzz of the city.
And if you want my advice, order burrata as a starter. It’s marvelous – so fresh that it melts in your mouth. Also, if you aren’t a big fan of pizza, you might want to try ravioli con uovo – one big ravioli with a surprise inside. Delicious!
P.S. The lunch menu differs from the evening menu.
P.S.2. For lunch you can have a salad and a pizza for only 25 PLN!
