The Gessler’s brothers have became an institution when it comes to the Warsaw’s gastronomy (please don’t confuse them with Magda Gessler from my Sodki…Slony article – there is a complicated story behind it involving love, betrayal, and success, but important thing is that they run two separate businesses).
Bracia Gessler occupy almost all of the ground floor of the Europejski Hotel at Krakowskie Przedmieście (it’s no longer a hotel; they rent rooms for different companies and enterprises and for cafes and restaurants).
They have the very popular Przekąski Zakąski, great U Kucharzy (you see that they’re popular, at least among the spotters!), light Bistro24, and Delikatesy where you can buy a sandwich for 5.00 PLN, or marmalades, jams and other preserves for around 15.00 – 20.00 PLN.
They also have Skład Win (Wine Storage), I found about it only recently when one of my friends invited me for a late-warm-summer-night-wine. We sat outside and, while looking at always busy Krakowskie Przedmieście, we drank a bottle of delicious red wine just for 30.00 PLN per bottle. Rarely you can find such a good selection for such a small price. They also have delicious sparkling wine mixed with a juice just for 7.00 PLN. It’s open till late and now you can enjoy warm summer nights with your glass of wine.
