A kiosk with culture and vodka – that’s how the owners describe the most hip spot on the recent map of Warsaw. Launched in the summer of 2009 in a carefully restored modernist building of a former railway ticket-office and still bearing the name of the station and its neon sign fast became something much more important than just a stop on the path of the Warsaw’s trendy clubbers. In short Warszawa Powiśle can be be described as part time cafe (serving take-away coffee from 9 am) and part time cultural institution providing vast array of unusual activities (curiously themed discos and concerts, almost academic debates about sociology, culture and politics combined with art exhibitions and yard sales). An usual evening at Warszawa Powiśle is trademarked by throngs of people outside the spot (even in winter). This is because the place is relatively small and smoking inside is prohibited. This not a usual view in Warsaw as most of the places still prefer to be smoking friendly. So if you’re looking for a tasty breakfast or craving for a snack during the long walk around the famous, once working-class Powiśle district (which should be on an obligatory list while sightseeing Warsaw) or if just want to listen to some good music this can be your first choice Details about this spot (Show on map)

We went here yesterday, and it was exactly like you described. Amazing picture too! Still wondering how you took it. From the railway above?
