The Cleveland Park neighborhood of Washington, DC attracts a number of tourists and locals every year for its main attraction – the National Zoo.
Ardeo + Bardeo is one of the older establishments in a DC restaurateur’s empire (which includes DC power spots Bibiana, Rasika, and Nopa).
What I really like about Ardeo’s modern American cuisine, is that there is something for everyone. The menu offers a number of snacks (crispy chickpeas are great) and small bites, cheese and charcuterie, sandwiches, pizza, seafood, and full dishes. Some of my favorites here are the chickpeas, crispy Brussels sprouts, and the scallops.
It’s a great alternative to the small plates restaurants downtown and also good for groups where not everyone wants small plates.
Perfect to stroll to after walking around the beautiful Zoo.
