Located in the heart of Capitol Hill, Lincoln Park is a great spot to go on a run/walk, read a book or bring your dog. Although this park is busiest (and most enjoyable) on beautiful, sunny days, you can expect a crowd of families, kids, and young adults all year round. There are quite a few park benches, 2 playgrounds, a dog park, and plenty of grass to lay a blanket and relax on. You can also admire the statues of Mary Mcleod Bethune (an African American civil rights leader and educator) and the Abraham Lincoln Emancipation Monument.
If you need a caffeine fix or quick bite to eat, you can run into Wine & Butter across the street. The park is also within walking distance to Eastern Market and Barrack’s Row if you are hungry and want a more substantial meal.
The easiest way to get here is to get off at the Eastern Market metro, and then it is about a half mile walk.
