For me there’s nothing better than a pint after a long day. And Post Pub is where I go after work when I don’t wanna go straight home. Now downtown DC can be a fairly uniform place. Away from the monuments and tourist attractions I mostly just see suits walking around. The restaurants are mostly chains and everyone discussing politics and business. But Post Pub gives me that place of belonging. Plus it’s hard to find a good lunch spot in town. A place with no nonsense food.
Pull a stool up to the bar and forget about the office. Post Pub really is an oasis. But it’s a blink and you’ll miss it place. I like to come here after work. The low ceilings and tight quarters give it a cozy neighborhood feel. They have Guinness on tap. A must for a neighborhood pub and they have outdoor seating.
The best time to stop here is during lunch. For under $ 15 you can have a burger and a Guinness – the cheapest in downtown.
