Anyone who’s familiar with Zagreb for a while will tell you that it’s been experiencing a gastro renaissance in the last few years. This means that more and more interesting bars, bistros and restaurants have been popping up, bringing us to the oh so sweet dilemmas: where to go for lunch, a snack and dinner? No longer one of the most boring capitals of Europe, Zagreb has more and more to offer when it comes to food. So indeed, where to go for lunch?
AB OVO bistro and bar is definitely not a spot you will find along your typical tourist stroll around Zagreb. Situated in a small street next to the Maksimir park, this little bistro is certainly worth a visit after the park has left you hungry and thirsty.
With its quirky design and a great selection of drinks and wines, AB OVO is worth the visit if only for an evening summer cocktail. But once you’re there, it would be a shame not to try something from their interesting menu. Although further away from the budget side of things, the AB OVO menu certainly provides value for your money.
Whether you go for one of their signature dishes (the fried zucchini flower) or something new on the menu (veal truffle goulash with homemade gnocchi) I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed. Who knows, you might need to do another lap around the park, just to burn all those calories off ;).
