Karla Lončar (1984)
About me
I was born in Zagreb where I have lived all my life and where I graduated Sociology and Comparative literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
I am a free-lance film critic and an admirer of words and pictures. My interests include watching films, reading books, traveling, daydreaming about traveling, stargazing, art, photography, psychoanalysis, dogs, finding wisdom in Peanuts’ characters, chopping parsley while cooking and lots of other wonderful things.
Why Zagreb?
Zagreb is my hometown and, like I mentioned, I have been living there all my life. I must say that I wish to live somewhere else, just for a while, to experience my view of Zagreb in a more profound way.
When I think what would I miss the most during my absence, I presume that that would be those special moments when you actually feel the city’s presence in the sunshine while walking through the Centar or relaxing at the Upper town’s belvedere. In those moments all the mixture of rich historic influences presented by the architecture, but metaphorically present in versatile mentalities and practices of the people, seems somewhat compatible and vibrant.
