Mio Corazon bar is definitively something else, I can’t say I come here often but it’s worth recommending because it’s a nice place in the centre of Zagreb.
I don’t even know where to start with this place; its location is not even 5 minutes from the main square, towards the north (Upper City). Its terrace is small and cute in a Latino way, standing in the middle of the street.
I think the decor is not meant to be explained. There is a display window with a skeleton with angelic wings in red thongs. When you enter, to your right are barbie dolls glued together in hearth shape and plastic guns right next to them, to the left is a doll wearing a world heavyweight championship belt; every table is filled with children’s toys and the ceiling is covered in high heels and I didn’t even start counting the details.
Their specialties are sangria, tapas and cakes. Here you can try the best sangria in the city, which alone is worth the visit. The cakes are homemade according to grandma’s recipes with all kinds of different flavours. Besides their specialties, they have classic bar beverages, coffee and cocktails.
The music is Latin and it definitively attracts a lot of people to this place. Across the street is Corazon Mio, the same place really, but you should go there to grab their handsome tapas in numerous styles which change daily.
