Pani serves the best Mexican-inspired dishes I’ve tried in Zagreb. Although I’m not an expert on Mexican street food, I like it simply because there are so many choices in creating your burrito and wrap. Often I don’t have an idea what the taste will be like, but one thing I always know: it’ll be tasty as hell!
The location is great: near Zagreb’s centre, the terrace is in the shades of buildings providing some green and a few benches. Right next to it is Žiraffa bar I also wrote about. The decor and atmosphere are casual, simple and pleasant but the bad thing is they do not have their own toilet.
Behind the counter the staff prepares burritos, quesadillas, wraps, tortilla dips, a few popular beers like Corona and even some Croatian craft beers, but their specialty is homemade lemonades made with some herbs, giving this unique and great taste.
As I mentioned earlier, you can make your own choices of the tastes you prefer and there are plenty of combinations. Don’t worry if you’re confused (I am every time), the staff is really great in helping you make your dish taste the way you like. Your food is delivered to you in small baskets wrapped in aluminium foil with the name of your taste. Prices are good and portions are big.
In the end, if you’re in Zagreb and wanna try something really Mexican, come here.
