If your stomach is rumbling and you have an instant desire for indian or Pakistani food – or Bollywood-Like Music videos – and you don’t want to spend too much money, the Bombay Karachi is just what you’re looking for. Admittedly, this is not the fanciest restaurant around, it actually isn’t a restaurant at all, more of a take-out. But I’m telling you about the place because the food is yummy and you get big portions. They normally have about six or seven halal Indian and Pakistani dishes, which you can combine with each other as your heart desires. Of course there is rice too. At least three of them are vegetarian, and if you just take veggie, you pay less. What else there is? Oh yeah, you can have free salad and looooots of dips and sauces with your food. Already hungry? I certainly am. Details about this spot (Show on map)

thanks
i hope this summer going to zurich and then to eat halal food really very tasty’s halal food i love it:)
where is it in zurich ???
the food was really good and quite reasonably priced as compared to other restaurants I have visited here. The owner is pakistani (punjabi) and he said that the food is halal too. Its only 4-5 minutes walk from Central. So I’d definitely recommend.
Hi Asif
I don’t know if the food is halal. But I’ll ask them this week, and I will let you know.
is it halal?
Bombay Karachi is not Indian food, it is Pakistani food. The “Bombay” is to attract people, but the taste is distinguishably Pakistani. The dishes are nice though.
It doesn’t look like much from the outside but you can’t judge a book by it’s cover can you. Interesting name though. Bombay which is known as Mumbai now is a city in India where as Karachi is a city in Pakistan. I guess it must serve food from both regions
How come I have never been taken to this fine establishment by my friends when I have visited Zurich 5 times? Oh well, I suppose they cook well enough at home. It looks delicious, it must be fabulous for vegetarians, or ex vegetarians with veggie tendencies.
Let me give you an alternative, check this place.
“New Point” has mainly turkish food (but not only), is cheap, better than McDonalds and they are open forever. And it’s close to the station.
Hope you’ll like it and enjoy your short stay in Zürich!
…and Switzerland have francs, not euros…
I am simply cheap and not very interested in food.
So I guess McDonald’s is the only cheap eating places open around 11-midnight?
Hi Daniel!
I don’t know if it’s too late. I just called to check: They don’t accept credit cards, only cash. And apparently they have new opening hours, so they’re open until 21.30 in the evening.
May I ask: Why are you looking for indian food in Zurich before you fly to india?
)
Oh, sorry, now I saw the opening hours, and they close too early.
What are their opening hours? And do they accept credit cards? I will wander around for ten hours before continuing on my Swiss flight to… India, and I rather don’t want to withdrawal euros only for a meal.
