In my opinion, Zurich is one of the nicest cities to live in during the summer. The pool area called Unterer Letten is on the Limmat. Built in 1910, it’s one of Zurich’s oldest pool area. Inside the wooden bath-house you feel like you’ve stepped back in time.
The stream is a bit stronger here so you should be a fairly good swimmer. Best is to walk upwards along the wall (it’s easy just observe how the others do it) to lengthen the stretch you’ll float down afterwards. Adventure-seekers can also jump from the railroad bridge (approx. 10 m).
The end of the pool area is marked by a fence. You can just swim to the side and climb up the steps or float right towards the fence (much more fun). Have a look at how the locals do it: You float on your back, feet to the front and as soon as you make contact with the bars you stand/lie in the water and get a great massage by the water floating around you. Fabulous!
And to make it even more perfects, there are also offers to satisfy your culinary needs. Daily from 09:00 – 20:00, the kiosk on the grass area above the pool serves breakfast, salads, crepes, pasta and tapas dishes and every Tuesday from 20:15 – 00:00, the pool area itself hosts a bar sometimes combined with cultural events,
